    Default Ryanair...

I travel with Ryanair quite a lot and their operations always seem in order.

I hear a lot in the media and on certain other Professional Pilot web sites about people hating and slating Ryanair.

Ok - so their methods are sometimes un-authodox but it seems to work. Not many airlines would order new Boeing 737's in the middle of a financial crisis and continue a reasonable service. Nobody at Ryanair is doing a "BA".

Ok so they cancelled their B787 order, I think that might of been a bit of commercial fun or a poke at competitors who are not doing so well, rather than a true order. Ryanair doesn't need the 787 to offer a good service.

I have to say all in all - they do what their position in the market asks them to do. Short-Haul trips that nobody else want to do, to routes not currently operated by any other airline.

I think they will come out smiling as always - a lot of people poke fun at them, but they seem to just wade on through everything.

    Just my voice on Ryanair!

To be honest I don't see why the shouldn't cancel the 787 orders, Boeing are two years behind schedule aren't they?
and I will personally kick the person who speaks dirty of Ryanair! The pilots allowed me to sit in the jumpseat during landing, all other airlines are much tighter...
    Happy Landings...

CAA rules would state that that's quite illegal!? When was this?

And Ryanair are obviously a "Get what you pay for" airline. Nothing wrong with that, and if people moan about them then they clearly dont understand that paying less gets you less.

From a pilot's point of view the airline hasnt always been the best because of the neccessity to pay for your own type rating, however, in this current climate we are in it seems that this isnt a bad thing because at least there are still jobs available, even though you end up in a further 20-30 thousand pounds worth of debt. That said however when the economy is booming it would seem like Ryanair- for pilots, isnt a very good company to work for, none the less I would still jump at the chance to fly for them!

Good company, others are just jealous of their success!

I have to say, having just flown with them tonight on way home from Poland, that they have a huge fleet.

Taxiing into Stanstead, all I could see were RyanAir tails illuminated on the stand loading up!

No company is perfect - they seem to do what their position asks them to do.

    When was this?
About a year ago, my dad was in the same school as the captain of the flight it was chance that he met up with him again, my dad sat during take-off and I sat during landing. And i don't think he mentioned anything to do with it being illegal.

Maybe one day they can employ us? They do have such a large fleet!
    Happy Landings...

Yep - and this is my point - people knock them but the truth is they serve their market in the only way possible.

Even on the last flight I took with them (New Years Day), we departed late (10-15mins) due to the snow, pax messing with their stupidly big carry on bags, and having to de-ice the airframe before take-off. We still managed to get back dead on time into Stansted.
