Your Flying Experience
Bonjour
All appears quiet in the forums these days, so with the incentive of the latest competition popping up I thought I'd try to start it all off again...
I've noticed that we now have over 100 members and it's hard to actually keep track of who uses these forum's and who does what in terms of aviation. So, I thought it might be a good idea to just get everyone to post in a few scentences where they are with their flying experience so far. Are you a professional? What licenses do you have? What planes can you fly? Where has your experience taken you so far and how often do you get chance to fly?
For myself I've been flying for about 5-6 years now, started on a Robin HR200 and now fly the Airbus 319/320! Most of my flying is done out of the UK but I've gone as far as New Zealand to learn to fly in the past.
So where are you in the aviation world right now? Briefly introduce yourself because there are only a few posters in these forums yet a fair few members. This thread can be used to keep track of who everyone is and what everyone does...

I've been flying for 8-9 years. Did my PPL in San Diego, CA on the cessna 152. Also got checked out in the C172 and Piper Warrior during my time out there. Did some hours building in the UK in a DA20 and C150 around the Sheffield area. Then went to NZ flew the C172, DA42 and Piper Seminole. Now fly professionally on the AirbusA320 and A319.

Struggling on the PPL Pay-as-you-Go Band Wagon!
I have 28 hours including time on Piper Warrior, Cessna 172N and Cirrus SR20 G3 GTS.
Been learning to fly for some time now (since 2009), solo'd at 22 hours but costs keep beating me back to confirm that it will be a fight for me to earn my licence.
I am currently on a saving mission to gather money to finish my licence outside of the UK. In the mean time I still take "pleasure flights" with my old instructor to keep my handling skills current although I dont try to make too much progress for fear of having to re-learn it after a length quiet period.
Air Law Exam pass is bearing down on me with its expiry date up October 2011.
Overall I'm feeling the strain from economic impacts so I cheer myself up by hearing about what the professional guys are upto (like the chaps above).

Similar story to Hotdog and Ads. My career started off with a PPL up at Tayside Aviation ( about 7-8 years ago) in the city of Dundee. I trained as an engineer before flying whilst completing the PPL and then applied to CTC in the final months of the qualification. Afterwards I had a wait of about 8 months before I got my first jet job. Currently sitting at the pointy end of A320/1's for a UK carrier.
