Great stuff Hotdog! Look forward to plenty more from the deck!

I suppose it must be awkward taking pictures, being so new to the job and all? Do you find your Captain's allow it as long as your quick and it doesn't distract you?

Lets just say captains take their fair share of pictures

...and reality is- if you can read a newspaper in the cruise or pull out the LPC (Airbus Laptop) then what's stopping you playing with a camera? Afterall you dont hand fly it much at all, you dont need to keep eyes out of the windows and youre not expected to stare at the instruments for 3 hours straight, oh, and the automatics do most of the hard work anyway!

So in summary yes you can take pictures so long as its not during critical phases of flight like take off or landing.

Being new to the job? I've been with the company for 3 months now and already I feel confident flying and the SOP's are just second nature, its quite amazing really. Of course there are always new things to learn and you learn something different every day.

    Hows the PPL going Chris?

Haha, I suppose when you look at it like that I can understand! 8o)

So what you're really saying is, your doing some top quality dossing in the pent house, and getting paid for it? Haha!

PPL is going slowly now really, money being the biggest hurdle. I am coming to crunch time now really. When it comes to November, I have to decide what i'm going to do because if I continue flying 1 hour a month, i'll never get continuity. If I save up and then fly en-mass then i'll have to leave a large gap between then and when I fly next.

I have to decide if I am to quit altogether in November, as I really wish to take my partner away on a nice holiday to the U.S. or similar. She has put up with me spending hundreds a month on flying since I started, and has actually started enjoying it herself now (much to my surprise). However I cant do everything.

A new job is on the horizon at the moment which offers a higher salary. I have been with my current employer for nearly 10 years. I will miss it, but income is now equally important as job satisfaction to me and you only get 1 life! If I do move on I might be able to save enough to finish my PPL within a summer-period or even take it to France to enjoy a more guaranteed weather window.

Who knows yet, but in November I will need to decide...

Nice pictures guys. Adam how did you get the one of the wing at sunset/Palma"? That new aircraft could appear in a 'you've been tango'd advert'.

Simply enjoying the views, looked around and thought 'that would be a nice picture'. Got the camera out, did a few bits in Manual mode and it came out pretty good.
