Question Climbing / Descending Clearing Turns

    Hi all,

I have some conflicting information regarding small clearing turns during climb and descent.

Is it correct to clear the right side first, then the left, or vice versa?

    Many thanks!

You'll be needing hotdog for this one.
I haven't flown for 2 months now, and I'm trying to remember stuff myself!
    Happy Landings...

Instructor confirmed right then left as I thought!

His exact wall message was - "Right then left - gives you the most uncluttered view of where you're about to be".

Which is true as the corners of the windshield extend deeper in the corners and you can see all the way down to the surface (on a good day!).

Affirm! Although to be honest its not something you would fail a test over, the difference is a few seconds to be honest, if you sweep left then sweep right its only a couple of seconds difference

Indeed - probably just the way its taught! I just want to fly very smooth and clean manoeuvres (no flaps jokes please!) from early on to develop some good operating practice.

After all its the basis on which I will do any future flying.
