Im just starting my ppl journey and was wondering what type of heatset i will be needing. Are there any particular makes/models i need to look out for? or do i even need to purchase one at this moment in time. Any feedback would be appriciated

Its good to purchase your own headset because shared flying club headsets can spread germs quite well and they are often uncomfortable on long navs.
I recommend David Clarke headsets, the H10 13.4 is the one I have, comes with a great guarantee and is a very comfortable headset to wear. Think they retail at around £210 but its definatly worth the investment at some point...

Agree with Morbz 100%, David Clark headsets are great, hard wearing and comfortable.
I too have the H10 13.4 - fantastic headset!
Search on eBay for good deals! Bought mine for £120!
Is there any thing i need to look out for when purchasing a headset as on my trial flight i had to plug the headset into the radio plugs do you get these with a headset or do you have to buy these seperatly
Everything you need to use a headset is supplied with it, you're probably better off going to a pilot shop and trying a few out.
