Question for the student pilots, past / present...
Question for you all...
What was / is the most enjoyable part of learning to fly?
For me the most enjoyable bit was learning to fly the multi engine twinstar. It was just a little bit more advanced than the single engine cessnas and the level of satisfaction from learning to fly something with another engine was so much greater. Single engine work in a multi was also brilliant fun, despite the part where you had to hold off the yaw on the rudder pedals everytime you simulated an engine shutdown!
I also most enjoyed learning to navigate, it was basically the final piece of the puzzle after grasping the core skills of handling the aircraft. Makes you realise you can go anywhere and do anything with the skills (well within reason!).
What was your personal highlight of learning to fly? What did you / do you enjoy the most?

I think for me, having spent so long through recession issues between schools and aircraft - finally actually going places during nav excercises and of course, arriving at the VRP at our calculated ETA - all worked out with pencils, protractors etc.
I guess it really hit home when my instructor started talking about how I will be flying the training routes solo shortly.
I enjoy looking down over the motorways and towns that I know so well from the ground, and admiring their beauty from above. Everything looks so unfamiliar from the air at the moment and orientation is still settling down.
Main issue is always money for me - I work really hard and have started doing IT Consultancy on the weekend to gather some extra cash.
